SUSILA DHARMA INDONESIA VIDEO DOCUMENTARIES (June 2005)
Susila Dharma Indonesia coordinates a variety of social welfare programs. A youth video team formed to record the experiences of Alexandra Woodward, a 17-year-old from USA, as she visited the projects. From 50 hours of footage and 1000 photos, three 30-minute films were compiled – Journeys to Jakarta, Java and Kalimantan. The trilogy is titled, “Let Your Voices Carry.” These documentaries are presented in a format of three images running on one screen, allowing many viewpoints and separate, simultaneously occurring events to be seen together. They strive to present an authentic and comprehensive view of the projects and the people. The project was coordinated by Luqman McKingley and funded by Subud enterprises. The premiere at the Subud World Congress demonstrated a successful collaboration between Subud youth, social services, culture and enterprises. Congratulations to everyone involved!

ANISHA PROJECT – BANGALORE, INDIA (June 2005)
From Rifka Several
The Anisha project was started with a mission to support people, particularly the poorest of the poor, to become socially aware, realize their potentials and be self-reliant. Anisha’s programs cover children's education (including for child laborers), children's savings programs, teacher training, mothers meetings, medical support, women's self-help and legal education groups, and old age pensions. "Anisha" means "from darkness to light" and this is a very comprehensive project addressing multiple social issues in slums. This project needs greater support and I encourage you to read this report and consider a donation.

MALARIA PILOT PROJECT BY INDONESIAN RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT NETWORK (IRDN) (June 2005)
Earlier this year, Dr. Rachman Mitchell held a series of discussions with people in villages around Rungan Sari, Kalimantan, asking what their major problem was. They responded “malaria” as 60% of inhabitants suffer from this.
These last two months, IRDN has been working on a pilot project to test the efficacy of malaria control grown in West Java and are planning to expand this project in four villages with over 1,000 inhabitants by giving out impregnated bed nets, spraying, medication including malaria control, and an educational malaria control program.
The project has received initial funding from Susila Dharma France and Germany, and is actively raising funds. To send a donation, go here.
