ACEH CHILDRENS’ PROJECTS
(September 2005)
Subud Crestone, Colorado (USA) provided a large grant to Indonesia Relief and Development Network for the reconstruction of a preschool in Teunom, on the west coast of Aceh. Marmitasari, chairperson of IRDN, writes: “I am sure they just cannot wait to have this project started. We are already meeting with members of the local administration to discuss the construction. Thanks again for this good news! Small children in that area will be very happy to start going to school again!”
An additional grant was provided to AOMAA Ibu4Aceh, towards their children’s psychosocial program conducted in camps with their mobile clinic services.
Sincere thanks to members of Subud Crestone for their fundraising efforts which will help the children of Aceh.

SUSILA DHARMA AND SUBUD USA HURRICANE KATRINA PROJECT
(September 2005)
Teen Moms & More is a Susila Dharma USA project that has now expanded to include helping the evacuees from Hurricane Katrina. Donations have provided clothes, toiletries, and many shipments of school supplies for children who have been relocated to new areas. INDONESIAN STUDENT SPONSORSHIP – YAYASAN USAHA MULIA (YUM)
(September 2005)
YUM is initiating a Child Sponsorship Program to benefit school-age children from the poorest areas of Jakarta.  A photo, short biography, and subsequent follow-up report of the child are provided to the sponsor so that an awareness can be gained of what this child’s current life is like and what sponsorship means to this child’s future.
The children available for sponsorship are already part of YUM’s preparatory school project, which educates and rehabilitates children who have dropped out, or have never entered, the mainstream educational system.
Sponsorship provides a child with education, clothing (including shoes), nutritional supplements, and vocational training.  Families are visited regularly to be aware of the home situation. Without sponsorship, these children most likely face a future of begging on the streets of Jakarta for food.
The cost of sponsoring a child for one year in the YUM Child Sponsorship Program is US$80.  This is only about $7 per month – and your donation will make all the difference in the world to a child. To sponsor a child, send your payment to Susila Dharma International Association. For instructions, please go to http://www.susiladharma.org/https://secure1.uniserve.com/wd-susiladharma/https://secure1.uniserve.com/wd-susiladharma/https://secure1.uniserve.com/wd-susiladharma/giving_now.html Credit card payments as well as bank transfers are accepted, and US tax receipts are available upon request.  Please indicate on the form that your donation is designated for “YUM Child Sponsorship Program.” Your sponsorship is greatly needed and appreciated- it provides hope for a better future.
